Students Love the W.E.P Library

Students in grades Child Development to fifth grade have the opportunity to visit the school library with their class once a week. They are also encouraged to visit at other times to check out books, to read, or to do research. Mrs. Nicholson, the librarian, has been at Parker Elementary for 8 years and loves helping the students pick out books that are just right for them or assisting them when they have a question about a special project they are doing. She also enjoys helping her fellow teachers find resources to help them teach lessons in their classroom.

Students in Mrs. Johnson’s fourth grade class visit the library every Tuesday. Angelique Fogle, a student in Mrs. Johnson’s class says that, “I think the library is a fun place because you get to read all different kinds of books and you can come back every Tuesday to read more books.” Another student, Christian Pierce, sums up his thoughts about the library by saying, “A library is helpful because it has tons of books that people checkout. It made reading my favorite subject. There are all kinds of books at the library.”

The students in Mrs. Johnson’s fourth grade class love the library because it provides them a place to read and learn.
