W.E. Parker Elementary School’s 4th and 5th Grade Chorus presented Disney’s “Cinderella Kids” on March 7th & 8th. This show is just one of four large Disney shows that the chorus performs on a four year rotation. The other shows include “Aladdin Kids,” “Jungle Book Kids,” and “Seussical Kids.”

There were 45 students in the cast of “Cinderella”; they began rehearsing in December.  The cast rehearsed at least twice a week. Some rehearsals lasted for over two hours. Music Director, Ashley LaCross commented, “The students are very dedicated, talented and hard working. They are a pleasure to work with.” The show was directed by Laura Zabo and choreographer, Allie Shealy. The stars of the show were Molly Harling (Cinderella), Akilias Key (Prince Charming), Brooklyn Lanphear (Stepmother), Trinity Wood (Anastasia), Amelia Pettigrew (Drizella), Quintin Garrett (Grand Duke), and Ethan Wideman (King). Also featured were: Caroline Mariano, Tyler Rearden, Sara Willis, and Lauren Bates as mice; Caroline King as the Fairy Godmother; Jared Bedenbaugh as Herald; Leland Reynolds and Shaheed Williams as Town Criers; and Hartley Byrd, Autumn Feagin, Azaria Williams, and Jill Caldwell as narrators.

The show was performed three times, twice for W. E. Parker students and parents, and once for the public. There was an audience of about 275 people at the final performance alone. Chorus parent/assistant Laura Cooley remarked that it was the best Chorus performance that she had seen in all her time at Parker. Both students and parents are already getting excited about next year’s  performance. W. E. Parker’s Chorus will be presenting “Aladdin Kids” in the spring of 2019.
