On Friday, September 07, 2018 the cafeteria at W. E. Parker Elementary School was overflowing with supportive grandparents.  In honor of Grandparents’ Day, grandparents were invited to come enjoy breakfast with their grandchildren.  Several hundred grandparents shared breakfast, conversation, and hugs with their grandchildren.

To show appreciation to their grandparents, the children prepared special writings and drawings for them.  After eating, many grandparents visited the classrooms to meet teachers and to see the environment where their grandchildren are developing the thinking, personal and relational skills needed for success in today’s society.

One grandparent remarked, “I am so glad that the school has this day and allows grandparents to come into the school.  My grandchildren and I look forward to this day every year.”

Grandparents are very special people.  WEP would like to thank the grandparents for coming and for helping to begin our day with lots of positive energy.
